What is Social Studies?
It is a combination of many of the Social Sciences,
including History, Geography, and Economics as well as anthropology,
sociology, and psychology. Whilst Geography studies the spatial
world in which we live and History studies how the world we live in
came to be this way, Level 1 Social Studies offers something a
little different.
Social Studies
examines how societies interact with each other, why individuals and
groups behave in certain ways, why current events and issues are
more important to us than we may think and most importantly, it
teaches us all to look at issues through multiple perspectives – to
extend our own understanding of both ourselves and those around us.
